New members of SPIRASI’s Board of Directors with effect from January 2018
SPIRASI is delighted to announce that Siobhán Conlon, Grace Mulvey and John Tobin will join the board with effect from January 2018.
Siobhán previously worked with the regulatory/compliance teams of Matheson, and Ernst & Young. Holder of a master’s degree from NUIG’s Irish Centre for Human Rights, she is a sole practitioner in the area of human rights and criminal law. About half of her clients are asylum-seekers or are seeking immigration-related advice & representation, and she has worked with a number of victims of torture.
Grace holds a BCL and an LLM, and is qualified as a New York Attorney and a Barrister. A former employee of both the ICCL and Nasc, she is a practising barrister and works part-time for FLAC, coordinating its legal clinics in Dublin and Cork. She has also served as an intern within both the Attorney General’s Office in Dublin, and the Juvenile Dependency Court in Los Angeles, USA.
John is a consultant psychiatrist and a retired Lt Col with the Irish Defence Forces. Holding degrees in medicine and science and an LLM in Human Rights Law, he works with the IICI in The Hague (https://iici.global/) and has worked in conflict / post-conflict zones with both the IICI and the UN. A trained forensic and general psychiatrist, he is a specialist in war trauma and its effects on the mind.
