Healthcare and nursing home workers in Direct Provision
Spirasi and many other organisations are concerned about the situation of people living in Direct Provision who are also doing important and essential work in hospitals, healthcare institutions and nursing homes. The Department of Justice and Equality and HSE have asked Spirasi to contact people living in Direct Provision and supporting organisations so that the names and details of people doing this work is submitted to them.
We have been told that the information will be used to identify "individual solutions" and that "moving persons from one centre to another will not be possible if these are essential workers so local temporary accommodation may be required."
