Spirasi Covid 19 Informartion

A full list of resources & helpful links has been published by Spirasi - Spirasi COVID -19 Resources Page.

In light of Government advice, and with due care for all clients and staff, Spirasi implemented a work-from-home policy from 16th March.

With the most recent advice (01/05/20) this period has now been extended until June 8th and we will update in due course regarding a date as to when we will reopen at 213 North Circular Road.

In terms of how we are currently operating and the services we provide, please review the following updates:

  • Reception

Now manned 9am to 5pm remotely (Monday to Friday)

  • Referrals
We are accepting new referrals but these will be placed on a waiting list.
  • Medico Legal Assessments
We are developing safe pathways and protocols for medico legal assessments to recommence in July.
  • Initial Assessments

We are planning for online initial assessments but this will not be possible until some restrictions are lifted as clients will need to be able to access a safe environment remotely. We hope this will happen in June.

  •  Therapy Support

We are continuing to provide therapeutic support via telephone and video technology to clients.

  • Psychosocial Supports
We are continuing to provide psychosocial support via telephone and video technology to clients.
  •  Education

As a result of Covid - 19 we have made changes to our assessment date.  Unfortunately we will not be proceeding with our usual assessment in June. The new assessment date is now scheduled for the end of November.  New dates for submission of results to be confirmed.  In the meantime, if there are any students who currently have completed folders, these will be marked by the teachers. Andreas Mokake will then forward their results to the CDETB office in Cabra to be entered in the November 2020 Assessments.

For all other inquiries regarding Education and Psychosocial support, please contact Andreas Mokake directly on (089) 962 7324 from 9am to 6pm (Monday to Friday).

  • Befriending

Our team of volunteer befrienders have responded resourcefully to the changes imposed by Covid19.  Face to face meetings with befriendees were suspended in line with Government advice from March 13th.  However regular contact has been maintained via telephone, text, and video technology.  We want to sincerely thank our dedicated volunteers for their continued commitment.

In terms of recruitment, we have experienced a marked increase in the numbers looking to befriend.  We have received over 20 expressions of interest since March 13th Our work of screening, training and linking new volunteers continues as we adapt to new working practices.

Spirasi will continue to update you via our website and on social media on further developments.
